Swimming

Mommy and Daddy took me swimming for the first time this weekend.  Mommy had looked on the internet at all the places where she could take me, she wanted to find somewhere that was nice for her and Daddy too.
She decided on a private pool as she expected it to be nicer because you have to pay, it was called Manhattan Plaza Health Club http://www.mphc.com/facilities/pool-roofdeck/

Do not let the pictures fool you! I did not enjoy my first swim one little bit and this made mommy sad, especially as she had paid $70 ($35 for mommy and $35 for daddy) for the privilege.

I didn't like it because the pool was freezing cold and we only had a tiny section in the corner to splash in.

Mommy said it was a disaster from the beginning, when we arrived there was no elevator and lots of steps so I had to be carried up in the stroller (I didn't mind this but better not tell mommy that!)
We had to fold the stroller up and leave it in reception which meant mommy had to carry me and all of her bags with her so if you want to test this pool out maybe your mommy should wear her carrier.
When we got into the changing rooms she realized you had to pay for a towel, apparently $35 doesn't get you a towel or a padlock for the lockers!  Mommy had to leave all of our stuff in an open locker (I could tell she was a little bit worried), there was only one baby changer and it was right in the corner at the top of more stairs.

Mommy said next time she thinks she is going to go to a hotel and pretend she is a guest, I'll let you know how that goes!

The only good thing was that I loved my swimming cossie, it is from a UK shop called John Lewis http://www.johnlewis.com/baby-child/c5000010

The frills are super cute!

It's a Dogs Life

This week we have been testing out all the parks near home, we went to

Washington Square Park http://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/washingtonsquarepark

Union Square Park http://www.nycgovparks.org/parks/unionsquarepark

Madison Square Park http://www.madisonsquarepark.org/

Madison Square Park was my favorite but that might have been because the sun was out that day and the rest of the time it was very cold!
We have to take our dog Oscar out for a walk every morning so he was more interested in the dog parks!

All of them have dog parks and perhaps it was the weather but the only one that didn't smell was Madison Square Park.  I hear people say that us babies smell but doggies definitely smell worse!

I am a little small at the moment but the playgrounds looked fun!  Every park had a playground so I think you can't go wrong there.  Mommy said I had to think about bathrooms and places to eat too for the other mommies so below is a summary:

Washington - Dog Run, Playgrounds, Bathrooms, Food Available

Union - Dog Run, Playgrounds, Bathrooms

Madison - Dog Run, Playgrounds, Food Available

I guess if you were to look at the above list then Washington Square Park offers the most but personally I think they're all fun!

I hope the sun stays out for you all.

Love and Kisses.

Happy Mothers Day

My mommy is from England and so today was Mothers Day - I want to say thank you to my Mommy because even though I've only been alive for 4 and a half months I know that she loves me very much and I am thankful for that (plus she buys me lots of pretty clothes!)

I met up with my friend Alexander today as his mommy is also from England. We decided to treat our mamas to lunch (well they treated themselves) but our treat was to let them eat their whole lunch without us crying - I know, best babies ever!

As I wrote yesterday we were having trouble on deciding where to go, Mommy rang all of the below places who said they didn't allow strollers:

Cafeteria    http://www.cafeteriagroup.com/about.php
Elmo          http://www.elmorestaurant.com/
Westville    http://www.westvillenyc.com/specials-market/chelsea/

The only place that was willing to accommodate us was Pounds & Ounces http://www.poundsandouncesnyc.com/ - they set us up on a lounge table at the front and were super helpful with helping us get in and out.  Plus mommy said the food was delicious, not the healthiest but she said she deserved a treat (don't ask me why).

It was a bit disappointing that our restaurant choice was so limited so we are going to make it our mission to try as many as we can so that we can report back and you will have more to choose from!

I decided on my shift dress from Zara for our lunch date as the sun was out again today.

I hope the sun stays out now.

Spring is here

Today it was beautiful in New York so Mommy and I got up early and took my puppy Oscar for a walk and then we went off to our morning yoga class.  We have been going to Karma Kids Yoga http://www.karmakidsyoga.com/ as we live right by it, we are doing the mom and baby class but they have classes for all ages!  The teachers are lovely and the studio is great, mommy told me she likes it because they do try and split the class 50/50 for moms and babies and it's a nice environment when you are a new mom.  The only downside is it's a bit tricky with the stroller so a tip would be to use a carrier.
We are moving soon though so we are going to try a few different options near our new apartment and I'll let you know what I think.

I had a hard workout so took a big nap, once I had woken up Mommy and I went off to the Meatpacking District to grab some lunch and have a look around the shops.  We decided to brave the Chelsea Markets and I'm pleased we did as she bought me the cutest dress from the pop up Artists and Fleas shop http://www.artistsandfleas.com/chelsea-market-manhattan-flea-designer-market-pop-up-shop from a nice lady called Patricia Gambis http://www.facebook.com/patriciagambis.

I like it because it's super comfy and mommy likes it because it's reversible .. she told me that it's good for when we're out because if I was to spill anything down myself she could just switch it inside out!

We didn't like Chelsea Markets for our lunch though, it was very busy and we couldn't fit in any of the restaurants with my stroller.  We are meeting my friend Alexander for lunch tomorrow and have to find a stroller-friendly restaurant nearby, I'll let you know where we end up.

But if any mommies want somewhere stress free to shop then the Meatpacking is fun! The sidewalks are large and there isn't much people traffic.  The doorways are big and so are the shops - including the dressing rooms!  They have lots of gorge stores and adding new ones all the time - Rag and Bone is there now, mommy bought some lovely new boots.

I'm off to bed now - speak to you soon.

Love and Kisses.
